What data the extension handles
To provide its features, WhatsAaaaaap reads and stores, locally in your browser:
- Your workspace data that you create: contact classifications (Work/Personal + sub-types), pipeline stages, private notes, follow-up tasks, message templates, custom fields, and your settings.
- Content visible in WhatsApp Web that you interact with — e.g. a chat’s display name or the messages on screen — so it can attach your notes/tags to the right conversation and (only on request) draft a reply.
Where your data is stored
All of the above is stored on your device, in the browser’s local extension storage. There is no account and no server operated by us. We cannot see, access, or retrieve your data.
AI features (optional, bring-your-own-key)
AI features are optional and run only when you explicitly click an AI action. When you do, the currently visible conversation text is sent to the AI provider you chose (e.g. OpenRouter or OpenAI), using the API key you entered. This request goes directly from your browser to that provider; we are not a party to it and do not receive or store the conversation or your key. Your use of a third-party provider is governed by that provider’s privacy policy.
Optional cloud sync
WhatsAaaaaap includes an optional cloud-sync feature that is disabled by default. If you enable it and sign in, your workspace data is synced to your own private, access-controlled account so you can use it across devices. If you leave it disabled, no data is transmitted for sync.
Permissions and why they are used
- storage — save your workspace data locally in the browser.
- alarms — schedule “snooze” reminders for chats you set aside.
- notifications — show a desktop reminder when a snoozed chat is due.
- Host access to web.whatsapp.com — inject the workspace overlay into WhatsApp Web.
- Host access to openrouter.ai / api.openai.com — send your AI requests to the provider you chose, only when you trigger an AI action.
What we do NOT do
- We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on any server we control (unless you explicitly enable sign-in / cloud sync).
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not use analytics, trackers, or advertising.
- We do not send or automate anything in WhatsApp on your behalf — every message is sent manually by you.
Data retention and deletion
Your local data lives only in your browser — clear it inside the extension or by uninstalling. If you enabled cloud sync, you can delete your account and its data on request.
Children
WhatsAaaaaap is intended for adults managing their own contacts and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
